Progression

There are many schools of thought on whether to get progression photos or not. Let’s explore why having progression photos are so important

  1. Site Updates and Increased Communication:

-Informing Stakeholders: Progression photos allow you to keep stakeholders informed, even if they can’t physically visit the site. Regular photo updates allows for an improved business relationship and reduces stress.

-Clarity: Technical aspects of construction, when transmitted verbally or in writing, can be confusing to some. Some people just need to be able to see pictures to fully understand what is going on and how things are progressing.

-Identifying Site Conditions: Photos can reveal any potential issues that may impact the project schedule. Early detection will lead to problem avoidance.

  2. Visible Job History, Timeline, and Progress Updates

-Tracking Progress: Including photos in your documentation helps track the progress of the overall project status.

-Reference for Future Work: These photos serve as a historical record. They will also assist with future upgrades, additions, or repairs.

3. Liability Protection

-Definitive Evidence: When disputes arise (as they always do), having clear photographic evidence can/will resolve issues quickly. They also provide and easy and definitive way to increase the accuracy of the project.

-Avoid Costly Disputes: Change orders, quality disputes, or delay claim can and will cause headaches and can get very expensive. Having the visual documentation may avoid some of these, or at a minimum, mitigate them.

Ultimately, it is your decision…
